Before I forget to mention it, it’s time for all of you to make good on those New Year’s Resolutions you’ll have forgotten about by February. I’m helping coordinate 2 volunteer projects through Greater DC Cares in the next week. Shoot me an e-mail (email@example.com) if you’d like to take part, and I’ll give you more details.
1) Volunteering at the Capital Area Food Bank, this Saturday, 9:00am-noon.
Lately, I’ve been working with the “Kids’ Cafe,” sorting food and packaging it up for various programs for kids in DC and PG County. No telling what this week holds. Chances are good you’ll get to rock out to Alica Keys’ new album though. 15 minute walk from the Brookland Metro.
2) Kit-making at PreventionWorks!, Tuesday, Jan 8, 6:30pm-8:30pm
We’ll be making female condom kits, condom kits, and smokers kits for the outreach people. PreventionWorks! also does needle exchange and just got some money from the city to expand its programs. (Read more about it here, here, and here) On 14th, near U street.
